The Dukovany NPP – Extension of the electrical unit control system to allow implementation of connections from related systems, including implementation of new information and cyber requirements
Having won the tender, I&C Energo a.s. in cooperation with the companies TES s.r.o. and ZAT a.s. will implement the contract "Extension of the electrical unit control system for the possibility of implementing connections from related systems, including implementation of new information and cyber safety requirements" at the Dukovany NPP in the following years.
Within the project, the electrical unit control system will be supplemented with a new cabinet equipped with a new PLC (programmable logic controller) and other elements. It will enable us to create new communication links between systems and implement new information and cyber safety requirements. A direct data connection between the electrical unit control system and the electrical unit monitoring system will be established and communication will be direct.
The new PLC allows communication on IEC 61850 protocol, is fully backward compatible and will communicate with the existing PLCs of the electrical unit control system over ZAT proprietary bus (Pernet). The cabinet will also allow for installation and connection of a new synchronization device and will also provide a reserve for future needs to add links to the electrical unit control system. At the same time, the inadequate method of data transfer between the electrical unit control system and the electrical unit monitoring system will be resolved, and signals that are currently missing will be transferred to the electrical unit control system via the new direct communication link between the electrical unit monitoring system and the electrical unit control system.
The project will be implemented in 20 sub-units. Completion is planned for the year 2032.
