NPP Dukovany - Replacement of unit protective equipment

Having won the public tender, I&C Energo a.s. will be implementing the project called "Replacement of Unit Protective Equipment" at the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant from 2026 to 2028. The aim of the project is to increase the reliability and safety of the unit protection system by upgrading existing technologies.
As part of the "Replacement of unit protection system will be reconstructed and modified in order to minimise the possibility of false operation of the system in case of failures outside the protected zone. A key change will be the implementation of back-up protective functions, ensuring that a single terminal failure will not require an outage of the facility in accordance with NTD requirements.
As part of the upgrade, all existing unit protective equipment terminals in the nDTE5 cabinets will be replaced with new units equipped with advanced algorithms for additional stabilization. In addition, the system will be supplemented with new protective functions that will ensure full backup of the protective equipment system even in the event of a failure or outage of one of the terminals.
The project will be significantly supported by renowned companies such as TES s.r.o., Siemens, s.r.o. and ÚJV Řež, a.s. - Energoproject Prague Division.
