I&C Energo a.s. is expanding its scope in the Australian markets
In July, our company reached a significant milestone. We received an order for the production and supply of a powder mixture coarseness sensor for the Australian company Delta electricity, which owns and operates the Vales Point coal-fired power plant (since September 2022 the company has belonged to the portfolio of Sev.En Global Investments).
The powder mixture coarseness sensors, developed by the Engineering Division, provide information on the particle size distribution (granulometry) and the amount of particles flowing in individual mill circuits of powder boilers, powder pipelines or pneumatic conveying routes. The transmission of the measured data to our company's data server is performed both by classical 4 - 20 mA current loops and wirelessly using the MQTT protocol. Measured data is thus available on any computer or smartphone connected to the Internet. Based on these measurements, the mill circuits are optimized in order to achieve the best possible grinding parameters. The main benefits are consequently lower CO and NOX emissions as well as a reduction in non-combustion, i.e. an increase in the efficiency of the combustion process.
The information obtained from our facility will be used at Vales Point to optimise the mill circuits at the two coal-fired units (boilers), which generate 1320 MW of electricity together.
For our company, this is the first application of these sensors outside the Czech Republic.
Our sensors, of which we have already delivered more than thirty units, can be found both at coal-fired power plants, for example in Mělník, and in the cement processing plants (Čížkovice or Mokrá), where they are used to control cement production. We have also supplied our sensors to a customer in the field of boiler production and optimization, in a portable version suitable for operational measurement during combustion optimization.
