Ceremonial opening of the construction of the waste-to-energy plant at the Komořany heating plant
On Wednesday, 28 August, the ceremonial opening of the construction and laying of the foundation stone of the waste-to-energy (WTE) plant took place on the premises of the Komořany heating plant near Most. The new low-emission source will contribute significantly to the gradual shift of the heating plant away from coal and to the reduction of the ecological burden of waste from the Ústí Region as well as the Czech Republic.
United Energy, a.s. has concluded a contract for the construction of the waste-to-energy plant with the contractor chosen in the selection procedure, the SESMETIC association. The selected consortium of SES a.s., Metrostav DIZ s.r.o. and I&C Energo a.s. will implement the construction for more than 5 billion CZK in the existing industrial area of the Komořany heating plant.
Within the SESMETIC association, I&C Energo is responsible for the electrical area (station internal power consumption systems, Cabling, Diesel Generator, Power Output), as well as for the I&C systems including field instrumentation, communication systems (voice and data communication, security camera system, electrical fire alarm system (EPS), radio) and also for the Technical Physical Security System (electronic security system (EZS) and access control system (SKV)) in the scope of design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning. I&C Energo a.s. will also supply selected engineering activities as a subcontractor to SES a.s.
The project is currently in the approved Basic Design phase and work is being done on the Detail Design phase, site equipment is being prepared and components with a long lead time are being ordered.
